44° 18' N; 71° 19' W These cylindrical rock piles are placed to mark the trail on the way up. They're quite literally life savers, as wandering off the trail could give place you in all sorts of unexpected predicaments. On the way in there was a sign for a lost hiker, a sixteen year old boy had been missing for three days.... This cairn is celebratory however, as it's at the top.
